Angry Scenes as 25 Men appear at halifax court on child sex charges

Angry scenes erupted outside Halifax magistrates court where 25 defendants appeared on charges of unlawful sexual activity with a child under 16.
One man ran from the court building shouting and attacked a police officer by grabbing her around the neck, the man was quickly subdued and arrested by other officers.

 
Protests by EDL and locals erupted in to angry scenes as defendants left court.
The 25 Men have been bailed to appear at Leeds Crown court in two weeks.

Nottingham men to face trial over burglary at deaf 95 year old Wakefield pensioners house

Two men appeared at Leeds Crown court accused of series of burglaries at 95 year old deaf and blind woman's flats in Wakefield.

The CPS claim the Two men were arrested when they travelled from Nottingham to Wakefield with the intention of burgling a 95 year old deaf and partially sighted pensioner on January the 13th following a previous burglary the prosecution claims was carried out by previously by David Whalin in December.
Scott Larcombe, 35, of Woodfield Road, Nottingham, was charged with attempted burglary on January the 13th.
David Gordon Whalin, 54, of The Lanes, Nottingham was charged with one count burglary on 18th of December in the Eastmoor area of Wakefield and one count of attempted burglary on January the 13th 2014

The alleged victim a 95 year old woman from Eastmoor Wakefield was described as profoundly deaf and partially sighted by the court, both men were bailed by Leeds Crown court to face trial on the 11th of June.
The solicitor representing both men stated they intended to enter not guilty pleas in April to all charges.

Dewsbury Flats Blaze drama leaves residents homeless.

Residents of Ashworth Close Dewsbury have been left homeless tonight following a severe fire at a communal flat complex .

The blaze which residents described as starting in a communal hallway broke out around 5:10 PM and has spread through the Roof areas of the connected properties causing severe damage to the building.
The firefighters attempted to contain the blaze until an Ariel platform appliance could be sourced from Wakefield fire station. 
The flats involved form part of the Ashworth Close flats complex with shared communal hallways, families and residents are tonight unable to return home.

Locals have  spoken of the shock at families and residents having to leave homes so close to Christmas with some calling for nearby residents to assist those displaced.
Investigations in to the blaze are expected to begin tomorrow, however until the damage is assessed many residents are having to find temporary accommodation with friends and relatives.

Fleeing robbers in GTA style car jackings Kirkstall Leeds.

Like a Scene from GTA !
Armed gang drag motorists and steal cars from cars in Leeds as they flee jewellery shop hold up.

Armed men fleeing a failed Jewellery shop robbery in Harrogate dragged motorists from cars and vans in Kirkstall Leeds as they escaped from smash and grab at Fattorini's jewellers in Harrogate where a large quantity of jewellery was stolen .
The gang fled in a grey van before switching to a Orange ford Focus RS but following several collisions in Harrogate they had to abandon the car in Kirkstall Road Leeds.


The Gang dragged occupants from a van before abandoning it at a cross roads where they collided only a hundred yards later with a Corsa car, they then began attempting to break car windows before stealing the Vauxhall Corsa.

Witnesses described the scene as something straight out of the video game Grand Theft Auto.
The armed gang had fled after failing to smash their way in to Fattorini's jewellers in Parliament Street in Harrogate at about 8.35am.
At around 9PM they hit rush hour traffic in Leeds where they abandoned the get away car and attacked a number of motorist including a work van.

One witness Describe on facebook how she saw masked men dragging motorists from cars at traffic lights, it was like something from a film she added.
Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or may have recorded the happenings on mobile phones or car dash cams.

Major blaze at Leeds city centre Majestic / Majestyk Nightclub: pictures

Over 75 Fire Fighters were called to fight a blaze at the former Majestyk nightclub in Leeds city centre at 7:10 PM on Tuesday night.
Initial crews appeared to believe the fire was under control, but at around 8:30 PM the blaze took hold of the roof space of the building and further appliances were brought in in an attempt to bring the blaze under control.

Armed gang target Pontefract Jewellers in broad daylight.

A 4 man armed gang stormed a Pontefract Jewellers shop on Ropergate in the town centre.

The armed gang struck at Kingston Jewellers around 2.30 PM threatening staff with a firearm before grabbing what has been described as a large quantity of jewellery.

The gang fled the shop in Ropergate in a maroon Rover 45 estate which was later found in flames on waste ground close to a children's park behind Wakefield road  near the junction of Jubilee way.
A large cordon was placed around the scene due to the possibility of ammunition in the car exploding and remained in place until the scene was declared safe at 4.50PM .

Shocked shop keepers told of how they were shocked that a gang would strike in broad daylight in a busy shopping street in front of shoppers.


Police have also revealed they are looking for a Silver  Astra estate car in connection with the incident.

Pictures : Flash Flooding Hits Castleford Town leaving homes flooded

Parts of Castleford Town in West Yorkshire were left under feet of flood water as a storm opened the skies above Castleford.

The severe thunderstorms began as a trickle around 5PM on Friday night (08-08-2014) however by 6.30 PM it had developed in to what residents could only describe a monsoon.
Drainage systems were overwhelmed as the water became trapped behind the towns flood defences.
Several motorists had to be rescued from cars by the fire service when the water rose to as much as five feet high in less than a couple of minutes.

The River level remained within safety levels, the actual problem appeared to be flood defences built to protect the town had trapped thousands of gallons of rain water behind them, when drains could not cope the water had nowhere to go.

Several residents mopping up last night blamed the authorities for sealing up drainage points along river banking and then failing to clear gulleys and road drains.
One resident stated that it just had no where to go, the drains are blocked solid with debris, they have not been cleared for years.

Two rescued as leisure boat catches fire on river Calder Methley .

Two Adults an their pet dog have been rescued from the river Calder near Castleford when a small pleasure cruiser caught fire .

The two occupants were on a Sunday afternoon boating leisure trip along the canal when flames took hold as the boat drifted along the river Calder towards Methley.
A quick thinking passing river cruiser rescued the pair who had jumped in to the river and were suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation and took them to safety on the river banking .

The Fire is thought to have started in the engine with the boats occupants having to jump from the boat.
The boat drifted downstream to the banking where the fire was dealt with.

Featherstone shop explodes in acetylene cylinder fire drama

Residents of Green Lane Featherstone were evacuated from their property on Saturday as an acetylene cylinder exploded in the local shop.

Police and fire received reports of an explosion at the shop around 2:15PM Saturday afternoon (5-07-2014).
Upon arrival they found a welder attempting to repair a freezer unit in the shop had ignited the welding equipment causing the acetylene tank to ignite.
Residents were evacuated whilst the fire service extinguished the fire and made the area safe.

Man arrested as Explosion destroys Tingley Bungalow Leeds

A 46 Year old man is under arrest following an explosion that destroyed a bungalow in the Tingley area of Leeds .

Emergency  services were called at 9:26 AM to reports of a fire following an explosion.
One man rescued himself from the bungalow as Emergency services raced to the scene.
The charred remains of the Bungalow .

A major operation was put in place including Ambulance Hart teams and the major rescue team from Cleckheaton.

Detective Inspector Sean Duggan of Leeds CID, said: 
"This incident is being treated as arson and an investigation has been launched by West Yorkshire Police.
"A 46-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arson and our enquiries into this incident are continuing.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact Leeds District CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."

Woman seriously injured in crash as car makes off from police in Dewsbury road Leeds.

A 34 year old woman has received serious injuries after a car crashed during a police pursuit in a Leeds Suburb. 20/05/2014

The Fiat Punto driven by a 23 Year old male made off from traffic police in the Dewsbury road area of Leeds Monday evening (6:37 PM) .
The Punto lost control colliding with parked cars and a row of shop fronts, a 34 year old female was hit by the out of control car on the pavement and received injuries described as serious but not life threatening.

A 23 year old man believed to be from Belle isle Leeds was cut free by fire-fighters from Hunslet station and taken to hospital where he remains under arrest .

Two Stabbed in Leeds road Huddersfield incident

Police are investigating after two men were stabbed following a report of a number of men fighting in Leeds road Huddersfield.

Police received reports of a group of men fighting near a carpet warehouse on Leeds road Huddersfield.
Two men one aged 44 and one aged 23 left the scene in a red car before stopping a few hundred meters away where it was discovered both men had been stabbed.
The men stopped and sought help nearby on Leeds road.
One man received aged 44 received serious injuries and the second less serious injuries.
Police are investigating the events.
